The week ahead
Monday to Wednesday, September 7 to 9. The Moon is dark and nothing major is happening in the sky. This is deliberately unglamorous time and it is worth using properly. Close the tabs, finish the thing that is 80 percent done, cancel the subscription, answer the email you have been avoiding. Whatever you clear now, you will not be carrying into the second half of the week.
Thursday, September 10. Two planets change sign within the same hour. Mercury moves into Libra, so from now on conversations get more diplomatic and more concerned with fairness. People start asking what you think instead of telling you. At the same time Venus moves into Scorpio, and that goes the other way. Venus in Scorpio is not interested in small talk. It wants to know where it stands, who is in and who is out, and it does not let go of things easily. From Thursday, expect your relationships to get more serious in tone even while your conversations get more polite. That combination is exactly as odd as it sounds.
Friday, September 11. New Moon at 18 degrees Virgo. This is the practical New Moon of the year and it is a good one, because it makes a supportive aspect to Mars. Whatever you start now has actual energy behind it. Virgo New Moons work best for boring things that improve your life: a new routine, a health plan, a filing system, a budget, a schedule that gives you your evenings back.
Uranus also stations retrograde on the same day, at 5 degrees Gemini. When a slow planet stops, whatever it has been stirring up stops moving forward without actually resolving. If something has been unsettled since August, a job that might change, a person who might leave, a decision someone else has to make, expect it to go quiet now rather than get answered. That is annoying but it is not a bad sign. If you have a placement between 16 and 20 degrees of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, or Sagittarius, Friday is a genuine starting line for you rather than a normal New Moon.
Saturday, September 12. Mercury opposes Neptune and makes a good aspect to Pluto on the same day. In practice that means two things at once. Anything vague will be more vague than usual, so do not agree to plans, prices, or promises that have not been written down. But you will also see straight through someone if you pay attention. If something feels off on Saturday, it probably is. Ask the direct question.
